LS better to turbo!!
Everybody says that an LS is better to turbo than a GSR because it has a lower cr. But, if you were to get lower cr pistons for a GSR than the GSR would be good to turbo also, right??
LS has a longer gear ratio, and has no VTEC which helps in really high HP turbo applications. It also has a longer stroke, a little more displacement and is easier to work on

Thats what i have also heard too, i have also heard that is alot more complications with vtec.
I personly have a custom turbo on my LS in a civic HB. I decided to go with the LS cause its just a plug and play - no extra wiring.

People are always bragging about the VTEC. When in reality the GSR is only marginally faster than an LS. Stock for stock, an LS will easily run side by side with a GSR until 3rd gear.

I dont know why you think that stock for stock an LS is just about as fast as a GSR. My friend has a GSR that i drive regularly and that thing kills stock, or slightly modded LS's.(His GSR is completly stock) And no way an LS can hang with a GSR all the way through 3rd.
most of the GSR's little perks, like the above mentioned are great for small boosting, but when you want to go real high, you are not going to want them, thats why "most" of the big boys use the LS motors.
yes it would be better suited for turbo if the comp is lowered
with the same amount of boost the GS-R will always come out on top, nuff said

hahahaha please...
Yes, a gsr is faster but there is no WAY a gsr will SMOKE an LS. With equal drivers, the gsr will be faster by .3 or .4 on the 1/4 mile.
The best i've seen with a gsr was 15 flat with a cold air intake and cat back system. I did 15.4 with my RS with only a CAI, i might be a kick *** driver after all.

shoot, i am an avid nonvtec turbo guru, I love the B18A/B's the B18A1 built with turbo in my 92 HB is badass... I raced a GSR and we both are pretty decent driver, I only stayed with him until we shifted to 3rd which is about right ( this was naturally aspirated) now its a couple semi truck leads for me... If you lower the comp in any honda motor you will be able to run more boost depending on your fuel and air supply along with good tuning.. I did lower my c/r to 9.0:1.. So in being biased that yes VTEC is also baddass to boost as well.. I just say to hell with whos faster between an LS AND GSR>>> now when your spankin all the domestics then hell yeah it does matter there.. I ate a Mustang Rouch supercharged... When you start comparing your car to enemies instead of ALLIES then I rest my case. I say all honda motors are baddas when done right.

Thank you!!!!!!! finnaly soneone with common sense. the gsr isnt that much faster than an ls. the major reason why it isnt is the 3rd gear ratio. 1 and 2 are the same on ls and gsr. ive driven both and theres not a big defference.
its like when people compare the b16a and the b18b....you can't unless both HAVE the same tranny. The tranny has a big effect on any motors, you have to have the right one.
B18B N/A: Sir or gsr trany
B18B FI: LS tranny

ok, maybe i got a little carried away with the whole "smoke" thing (lmao that was pretty stupid) but it is fairly easy to beat an LS by a good margin. yea yea i know were talking turbo here but i didnt bring up the almost stock racing in the first place. Ill be honest ive never drivin an LS, so im probably biased when it comes to comparing the two cause i love driving my friends car. So until i drive one ill just say they are both really great cars with plenty of potential using fd or not.

next time you drive that GSR, try going up to redline sometime..
i have redlined a gsr (dealer car, hehe) there is a difference but not as big as alot of people make it out to be. both cars have there advantages. i chose a gs cause i wanted a good outa the box turbo car. that little bit of hp on top that ill loose i wont be worrying about when im burning clean through 3rd. someday......
alot of people just use words a little to liberally thats all and make the gsr out to be like a night and day difference from the ls.
