so i acquired a y8 block through a trade w/ forged internals...crower rodas and srp pistons....now i dissasembled the whole thing...i took the rod bolts out and the cap doesnt wanna come off so i can pop the pistons out the top...can ne one provide me w/ ne help?

 

tap lightly with a dead blow hammer or a rubber hammer - it is most likely just heat seized.

 

i tried very lightly tho, i dont wanna mess ne thing up...should i just apply more force

Just use a plastic or rubber hammer. You can hit it with a decent amount of force. Remember the material you are hitting is MUCH harder than the material you are using to hit it with.

 

i found the prob but not a soution...the rod cap has slides onto a sleeve that extends from the length of the rod....obviously i would have to pull the rod str8 up then...is there a special tool for this as i dont want to scour the rod using some tool to grasp it...
