I have yet to hear a honda without a cat that doesn't sound like a giant fart can. Just my opinion. They sound gross. Even with resonators.

i usually get exhausts made cause the people who do it for me do a real nic job so i can have everything setup the way i want it... i'm looking to run a high flow cat, 2 resonators, and prolly an N1 style muffler, we'll see how cheap i am if i buy the real thing haha

that will help, but i doubt your car will pass emissions, especially being in cali. not having a cat will definitely get your a smog violation. get a 2.5" carsound cat, that will smooth out the tone- other than that, its a good setup.

My setup - dc jdm 4-1--->2.5 carsound cat--->2.5 kteller w/ magnaflow resonator and muffler.

No ricey buzz, just add a resonator or as many as you can.

not having a cat is illegal and being in cali, fines are steep. get a carsound cat.

I have a 93 integra with factory cat and a glass pack and it has a deep sound.....sounds better than the majority.

Agreed, addition of cat and/or resonator will def help. I would say do both.

unfortunately I can tell you from first hand experience that gutting or removing the catilitic converter will make your car sound a bit raspy, fortunately for me its not too bad.

The inside diameter is 2.35. my friend has one on his dc and we measured it :-D. BUT as far as the cats and tickets etc goes. I could care less about tickets this is my weekend driver and as far as sound goes. I just want loud... really loud :-D quiet is boring, Ive been running the mugen twin loop for quite too long. But no riceyness.. so jdm header, 2.5" piping, ?????, then spoon n1. lol

i just got 2.5 inch piping from the header back with a strait thru muffler.. its loud as **** and i LOVE IT! if you go custom... MAKE SURE U STAY AT THE SHOP and dont be afraid to make comments on their work... its your car, and no one can read minds. i annoyed the guy so much but i dont care because my exhaust looks ******* amazing.. muffler comes out at the perfect angle and i couldnt be happier in any way.. thanks miami muffler... (probably will splice a couple resonators in there later lol.. it is so obnoxiously rediculously deep and bassy. the neighbors have complained every single time ive come home.. and ive only had it for 2 days lol)

not trying to hi-jack the thread, but it's an exhaust ? and this is an exhaust topic so........

I have a full cat-back Greddy Evo exhaust on my DC, and I just noticed there is about a 3" hole blown out of the inside. To clarify - only if you were looking inside my muffler could you see the whole. It's like the inner weld blew or something?? Is this a common problem for the Evo?? Has this happened to anyone else? And is it hurting my power(I assume it is slightly)?? It must have been like this when I bought it about 2 months ago, cause I haven't noticed a change in tone or anything.

Take it from someone who doesn't have one:

Get a resonator.
