i have a SOHC zc non-vtec and i was wondering what this solenoid looking thing was on my distributor 'cause i have no idea what it is.

But if the motoro is a b16a, it prolly is your Vtec selenoid. Good luck.

edit: just read the post again, it's SOHC non vtec. it might be your dashpot diaphragm... pics....

 

it's a red x... it defenitly has no purpose on a dizzy

 

sorry nothin but red x's but what engine do you have? if it's zc it might be crank angle sensor but thats a guess cuz theres no pic

 

it is probably a static condensor. i cant explain what it does though.

if its on the distributor, and is a little round metal thing, it is probably the radio noise condenser on the power wire for the distributor. if it is in fact on the head, then you sir have a sohc vtec zc
