shocks..
hey, i had a interestin convo today with a machanic at my work. I asked him should i get coilovers or springs to lower my car and have a smooth ride with good handling? he told me b4 i look for those i should get shocks first cuz the shocks r what give u the smoothness of the ride. Is this tru? if so does anyone know any good brands that make good quality shocks?
Well more or less yes it is true...after market springs with stock shocks will not give you a very comfortable ride. Suspension is one area that you want to invest some money into quality parts...if you want a comfortable ride you will probably want to go with springs as opposed to coil overs. Some good spring brands are Eibach, H&R, Tein, Neuspeed. If you want some excellent shocks to match the new springs get Tokico Illuminas or Koni Yellow's.
i have skunk 2 coilover on my 2000 AV6 they ride okay but i need shocks too.... cause oem shocks will blow quick when u install lowering springs or coilovers, for the money i would reccomend tein basic damper set. ride height is adjustable, but if u want to adjust the damper of the shocks gett the ss version... peace
