yeah so im back. ive decided i want to do an integra type R swap for my 98 civic hatch. just wondering if anyone who has done this could tell me around how much money they had to dish out for this

 

$4550.00 + 250 shipping + $100 for civic Si mount...and thats if you install it yourself. Why dont you just turbo your D series for 1/3 of the cost and be faster?

 

just dont like turbos. plus i like havin more in my motor (sorry i dont like calling it an "engine") than relyin on other things. doubt it would run as nice, and i dont like some of the things ive heard. then again, i am an ignorant idiot when it comes to imports... i do love the way it soundns though.

My bud just ran 12.75 on a stock Y7 with 12 psi in a CRX.

 

really? doesnt runnin that much psi really mess with your dependability though?

There is truth to that, but 12 psi on a stock Y7 is not something I'm willing to do. The stock clutch has nowhere near enough grip to hold that anyway.

why wouldn't you put more into the engine itself if you had a turbo?

 

turbo's are cool for SLR but there is A **** LOAD more in driving the corners.

IMO boost is expensive more expensive in the long run the a DOHC swap

I've put almost 25k on my sohc boost setup and haven't spent a dime over what it cost me to install it.

b18c5 swap....mid 13's with GOOD driver.....
d series turbo 14's....with awesome driver.....

ya but hats a built d series, if you build that type R you wont be disapointed. anyway my bro has a R motor for sale with low miles, check it out.

and type R motors go for more then 4500, when i was looking into geting one for my hb i was quoted higher for a 96 spec. From hmotorsonline.com

Sadly he's right. Less power with better gearing will walk any day of the week.

sure it will , in a road course.....but my aebs fully built y8 with a gt35e pushing 30 lbs of boost will roll that
