Default idle problem 99gsr

I noticed a while back that when I am coming to a stop or really anytime a press the clutch and the tac drops it will fall really low. It will usally drop to like 500rpm and then pick its self back up to par 750rpm most of the time. Sometimes it actually stays low and you can notice a little vibration from low idling. If I hit the gas and rev it up a little bit it sometimes will go back to 750rpm but it always drops below then pics itself back up.

A new thing I noticed while messing around in the garage was that when my car was running i could hit the gas ever so slightly and the car would idle way low. Im not sure if the two things are related but it seems like it could be. I can almost stall the car if i quickly press the pedal really soft. Sometimes I even notice when accelerating at after the light turns green as I press the gas it drops for a milasecond and then drives fine. So its really like a extreemly quick drop in rpm before acceleration.

In the last 5,000 miles distributor rotar, cap, plugs, wires have been changed. I did this as routine maitance since it had never been done on the car. All the parts were OEM honda and I doubt the new parts are directly related just wanted to avoid the obvious sugestions for fixs.

I really wanna get everything perfect seeing I will be installing a xs-eng turbo kit around christmas. Thanks for the help...

all of you should take 5mins and fill more tranny fluid....at GROUND Level...do not jack the car up....just do it......it works for me.....my ilde up and down in the 800-500 i filled it up....YEAHHHH....

after filled it up to filler hole....turn on ignition rev to 2k rpm for 30second let it go...idle to warm up and drive......good luck to you all

i didn't say this will curse all ilding problem but it works for me so give it a try rather than not...

not a hard thing to do....

I really don't see how tranny fluid would effect idle just doesn't make since. Fill me in if you know something i don't. Also the fluid was changed about 10000 miles ago I did it myself so i know it was full the the top. :\

Try putting some decarbonizing fluid or foam from AutoZone in the intake manifold.
Carbon and gunk does build up over time:

That's at 100000 miles with fluctuating idle, new timing belt, water pump,
ECT switch, TPS and ECT sensor.
