burning oil

Default burning oil

soo every time i start my car...blue smoke comes out..its burning oil..i recently changed my oil in my 2000 civic si and it has a 3.5 qt. tank and i only had 1.5 qts left when i changed..

why is it burning?!? any sugestions?

9 times out of ten its going to be because your valve stem seals are going bad. what happens it that over night oil seeps down past them and when you go to start your car, the oil gets burnt. its a really easy fix and normally you dont have to take the head off. the seals normally cost around $40 for all of them.
Do you notice smoke at high RPM shifts too?
