Default Please Help Trying to Finish B16 Swap

Ok i have a B16 Dropped into my Engine bay and it won't turn over when i try to start it, the fuel pump will turn on and you can here it pumping fuel but that's about it, i checked and made sure everything was hooked up right and it all appears to be well, but i did buy a starter from a guy localy and he said that he pulled it off a motor and he wasn't sure if it worked.... So anyone think that it's the starter before i have to go spend more $$$?

I grounded the ground coming off of the main harness to the starter, do you think that could be it? I would love to go out to my car and try out these possibilities but my car is about a ninty miles away from where i live since i just moved and had to leave the car behind at a buudys house, so all the info i get now can only help me out when i get over to it...

thanks,
rob

just test the starter, send 12 volts to it directly and see if it does anything.

Ok so i took the starter off of the car and hooked the battery directly up to it and it appears to work fine, so i put the starter back on and nothing really, just a clicking sound, then i switched the thermostat ground wire and grounded it off to the water pump doh! and i tried starting it up and it turned over the littlest bit, but then a few minutes later i tried it again and it wouldn't even do that, maybe it was flooded? i don't have either of the O2 sensors would this prevent it from starting up? i know it'd run like crap but not work......? just lookin to get this swap done if anyone has any ideas i'd appreciate it...

If it's not even turning over then you know it's nothing fuel / spark related because it's just running off the starter. You can hear the starter click when you try to start it up though?

had a starter that would run fine outside the tranny but once inside nothing so testing it outside don't mean jack

I would try<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by vitrox &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">just test the starter, send 12 volts to it directly and see if it does anything.</TD></TR></TABLE>

the o2 sensors have nothing to do with the start but once running yeah it will run like crap been there with only one o2 and ran like **** rich as ****

oh yeah here's another problem, when i put the rear tranny bracket on it was sitting right next to the mount instead of going over it, it's like the motor needed to be pushed over to the left a few inches for the bracket to rest on the new mount that is bolted onto the crossmember, but that would be impossible considering that the other tranny and right motor mount were already installed, so i don't know if i have the wrong bracket or what, anybody ever come across this problem?
