my car = 93 si hatch. dropped 2 inches on tokico shocks with adjustable coils

I recently changed my rotors (all 4) with new brake pads as well. When I accelerate, the car has no shake. Whenever I brake tho, it shakes really badly. I can feel the brake pulsing, and the handle shakes as well (got rotors and pads from checkers). I do not have a camber kit installed and I also need an alignment done. My question is, what would cause my car to shake like this? My brother in law suggested that it could be suspensions? Could suspensions cause a shake like this to occur? I know that I need a new tie rod, could that be the problem? Also, do you need to put back in the brake retainer screws after installing the rotors?

p.s. i searched and came up with threads about shaking, but nothing to answer my questions.

You don't need one.

Do this before anything else. If you know something is wrong, fix it, then start troubleshooting.

Possibly. Fix this, then get an alignment.

No, I chuck those in the trash as fast as I can.

 

might sound stupid but did you put your tires on correctly. meaning they arent loose?

As for the screws those are just there to hold the rotors on during production, the calipers and the wheel hold the rotor on.

 

yea the tires are on correctly., will do on the alignment and tie rod. thanks for the advice.

 

Did you put the rotar back on and did you cross your lug nuts when you put the tire back on?

Edit: Also did you put that gunk on that helps prevent the brake pad to stick onto the rotor?

 

Wheel shake during braking:

- loose suspension bolts
- bad suspension bushings
- loose lugnuts
- warped rotors
- crappy brake pads have cause material transfer onto your rotors
- loose axle nut
- bad wheel bearing

I could go on... I'd start with the axle nut, wheel bearing, then suspension nuts and bolts.

1st question that you have to answer is: Did the car behave this way before you changed your rotors and pads?

 

Did you run-in your rotors?

That means NO HARD BRAKING first 200-300 miles...

Cos that is the main reason why would rotors start shaking... if it is the rotors...

yes, but not as bad. it seems its alot worse now with the new rotors and brake pads. and ya, i've been braking very slow and made sure i down shift to slow down, so i dont brake too hard.

can you explain in more detail?

 

a seized caliper is when the caliper is worn and doesnt no function properly, like it will stick, may also be wheel bearings or ball joint, possibly tie rods, not sure, but itd be worth checkin out

fix this problem first.
did you torque your wheel to spec. 80-85 ft lbs.
usually they sell rotor and brake pad at 3 difference levels at autoparts store. alway try to get the best for your car or just get after market one like brembo, ceramic pads. cause the el cheapo rotor will warp and fade so fast before you know it.
