Can we use more descriptive topic titles? PLEEEEASE?
With as much activity as this forum sees, it's essential that the titles of topics give us some indication of what the topic is about. That way, folks who are interested in the topic can open it, and others can move on.
Usually, this is the case. But lately, too many meaningless topic titles are showing up. Right now on the first page, the topic titles include:
- Getting restless
- how do you really know?
- if things go as planned
and, the best example of all,
- Hey!
Can those posting topics (and, if necessary, the moderators after the fact) PLEASE use titles that describe what's inside? If you're starting a topic, that's the best way to get people who are interested to open it. Use a meaningless title, and many people who might otherwise be interested won't even bother checking it out.

Thank you.
Ken, I was ALMOST tempted to humor you with a new thread titled specifically in something completely ambiguous, but then I thought, why aggravate him more?
Hmmm I'm bad about posting topics w/ vague titles but I usually have pics in my threads so I figure people will let me slide

When you create a thread, think of a title so that the intent and contents of the topic would be easy to search for. Use general terms and correct spelling. Leave out the l33tz0r cr@p and the jujuju's.
i.e. "Best way to rasie compression ratio w/o changing pistons"
not,
"t00 br0ke for p1st0ns want to bump my C/r!!11!"

Maybe. But if the poster uses a [stupid Web board name deleted] title instead of a typical ITR Forum title, he runs the risk of busier users like Nsxtasy just skipping it, and professional, technically savvy users like the Harris's might also be too busy to look into a nondescriptive title posted by someone they don't know.
In forums where the moderators are more intrusive, nondescriptive titles would be acted upon, and I think that most moderators would view a completely nondescriptive title as a violation of polite netiquette on the part of an uninitiated user.
