Would this fit pefectly? or do I need the jdm length t1r test pipe?. This is for my 98 gsr.
the 'jdm-length' of a testpipe would be 14" (like you mentioned in the title). if i'm not mistaken, the 94-99 gsr's have very similar exhaust dimensions (in terms of length) to jdm itr's, eg shorter cat, longer a and b-pipes.
my jdm itr 4-1 --> smsp 2.5" carsound --> t1R catback fit great
, just make sure you take off the heatshields

My 94-99GSR greddy evo catback bolts up perfectly, reason I had my doubts about the t1r being a perfect fit.
smsp cat is approx 14" long from flange to flange.
Great, thanks guys.

If the T1R b-pipe is usdm length, you'll need a 16" cat. The stock usdm cat is about 17", and the jdm header is 1" longer than your usdm header, so you'll need an inch shorter cat...hence the 16".
JDM b-pipes are longer than usdm b-pipes by a couple inches, so if the T1R is the long JDM style, yes, you'll need a 14" cat.
