h23a vtec JDM blue top problems
i just got my JDM h23a dohc vtec fitted..the one with the blue head...it has an automatic transmission ecu and i am getting 2 codes....
17 and 36
the car will not rev past 5k and vtec is not engaging..the guy who is doing the wiring says the VSS code is malfunctioning so the car will not hit vtec.
it has an h22 93-94 model manual transmission which is OBD1 while the engine is an OBD2 99ish model..
he says it has to do with the VSS for the OBD2 engine is a 3 wire pulsing one.. and the VSS it has present on the h22 gearbox is OBD1 and is a 2 wire...
what can i do to get passed this?
i am in pakistan and stuff is not available here...i could convert over to OBD1 and chip or try to fix this problem so my questions are
1) does anyone have the pinouts for this rare engine which only came as an automatic?
2) where can i get the proper VSS for this setup and from what car etc. etc.
3) can i bypass the VSS in anyway? it is OBD2 so thats going to be very tough...
some help here?

The JDM H23a is a 2.3 DOHC VTEC with a blue valve cover.
U must be thinking of a h23a1 which has no vtec.
As far as your VSS issue i dont know look in a prelude repair manual that may help.

Accord wagon (JDM) had H23 Vtec. He is right, it has a blue VC.

First things first, what ECU you using? All the VSS mounted on the trans in the US are 3 wires. They all use a pulse (12v) signal. Yes, vtec will not engage if your VSS is not working.
Code 36 is for traction control, do not worry about it.

FIRST.- change your ecu, the pcf ecu in that engine needs the trans sensors, the reason that u dont pass 5k rev, its because the ECU is still en PARK, thats a feature of honda that make rev-limiter to 5k rpms,
SEC.- i got the t2w4 trans from a euro r h22a7 engine, lsd (sweet like hell) and i buy the pcd-014 Ecu of the euro r engine, but don even hit vtec, why? the vss was unpluged, and the ecu dont receive any signal, check that conection.
TRD.- i buy a AEM EMS V1 (ecu) , and get tunning , all by myself, im still dealing whit the fuel map, too rich, but the car run great.
check that vss signal, and get another ecu, a p72 or p28 anf get it chipped
