Dumb question about cat
yea that bung definetly looks like its in the cat lol but if you really want you can choose where it goes... if you want it before the cat.. make the o2 bung side on the inlet side... and if you want it after put it on the outlet side... lol but yea its definetly in the cat

Like I posted before, I wasn't under the impression that cats could be installed in either direction. Am I wrong? I've also checked out magnaflows website, and couldn't find a definite answer
Now I've checked out howstuffworks.com I now know there are two seperate reactions going on. But I still don't know if the reduction catalyst has to happen before the oxidation catalyst.

That should be a 94136 cat. Direction does not matter. IF you purchased the cat for an OBDII application it may work without lengthening the secondary O2 sensor wires. I only use that style cat for the pre 2000 GSRs with JDM headers. If I'm building an obdii cat then I use the 94166 cat which has 2 bungs both on the same side but different ends. I plug the inlet and located the outlet bung to be on the passenger side since that's where the stock sensor is. If you use that cat then the sensor will go in on the driver's side and you may or may not have to lengthen the 4 sensor wires.
I've never used the 94136 cat, just the 94106 (no bungs for 12" obdi cats) or 94166 for 12" obdii cats.

i think you wasted your money buying that cat. first off your gonna have fun taking the old cat of your exhaust manifold and welding the new one on. all i did for my HX was gut the dam thing. just take a breaker bar and mash the hell out of the inside. but watch out for th O2. i would take it out before you do this.
