got a 91 dx with dpfi. when i start it up, it idles fine. it only starts to surge when i hit the gas, like if i push the gas and let off it will start to surge, sometimes it will only surge between like 900 and 700, sometimes it surges between 1,000 and 400, sometimes when it surges between 1,000 and 400 it will drop down an die.

so far ive ran the engine pull the iacv plug off to see if it would stablize the idling, but did alittle but it didnt fix it.

the funny thing i notice was then when i was reving the engien from the engine bay it wouldnt surge, or only like 900 to 800, but when i went from inside the car and used the gas pedal it surged between 1,000 and 400 soemtiems it would die

 

spray some carb cleaner into the intake while its running it will start to die, and spray more and kill the motor then turn off the car. It will take a bit to turn on but once it does check if it is still surging, if it still is take off teh iacv and spray it out with car cleaner, clean out teh dirty black screen, those 2 should do the trick..

 

ok i sprayed down the tb while the car was running till it died, started it back up and still surging. but i noticed that after i sprayed down the tb alittle it would idle good for aobut 30 seconds then would start surging again.

did the iacv and sprayed it clean, the screen was black but not clogged, but it is still surging

anyone have anymore ideas ?
