there was no, non-obd or obd0 (88-91) ecu meant for VTEC motors....
there is few things you can do...
1) get the proper ECU: PW0 or PR3
2) run a PG7 or PM6 or PM7 chipped ecu, with b16a or uprated program , but that still means no vtec.....so a switch will be need to turn vtec on ...such as the pill method or shift light or relay switch
3)you can also just go with Zdyne conversion...
but remember 1 is by far best way

You can run a pr4 (90 ls)with a vtec program and a vafc to actually activate the vtec. This is what I used to run on my motor. Skunk pprogram and vafc. For sale with a clutch by the way 550.(shameless plug)
afen, he probably means rpm activated switch like a msd which uses little plug in (pill) type thingies.
