Default synthetic vs natural

my 95 b18c1 tends to use more oil(about 3/4 0f a quart every 3k)when using synthetic compared to almost none when i use natural,has anyone else expeirenced this ?and what would cause this?THANKS!

I don't know the exact reason but engines are more prone to leaks when you go from natural to synthetic. Especially when you have a high mileage car.

Synthetic oil is thinner and therefore will leak more easily. Older engines are prone to leaking oil because the seals and gaskets begin to wear out. Therefore you'll be filling up more often with synthetic. HTH

When using natural oil, you get sludge build up that seals certain parts in the engine. When you swtich you syn, the sludge is removed by certain materials in the syn oil. That is why you will usually see oil leaks from switching to syn. Eventually they should go away.

I started using synthetic in my old 96 LS and 00 GSR after my FIRST oil change and never had any problems. Actually, my car uses about 1/4 quart every 3k-4k miles but I think that is OK.

cam-seals and redline= loss of oil

i have like spots of oil on my fuel rail, intake manifold and hood from oil squirting out of my camseal at high RPM, its annoying.

damn dude you need to get that checked out. THank fully i don't have much wrong with my car from mods. Previous owner was a ricer.

haha, same problem with my cam seal using amsoil 0w-30. i'll be ordering an str once the fresh coat of gasket seal peels off and oil starts leaking again.
