Cheapest way to fix header rattle?
My brother's 95 GSR has that annoying header rattle at about 3k RPMS. This is really annoying since you don't want to rev the engine above that. What would be the cheapest way to fix this? New headers cost too much.
Im assuming youre talking about the stock headers.....prolly just the heat shield...only two bolts just tighten em....oh yeah wait till car is cold.
hmm, fix rattle, with not much loot eh? heres three ways-
1) ripoff heat shields
2) buy a DC ceramic coated header
3) buy a used header
4) run without a header j/k LOL

Umm, some of those will work... but the rattle IS NOT your heat shields...
It's the interior piping on your A-pipe that has broken loose and is rattling against the exterior piping.
You can (A) Use a hammer, and attempt to dent the exterior piping, forcing the interior from rattling against it. OR (B) cut the piping and weld the area.
Or (C) get a aftermarket header!!!
If you have any q's PM me, we're here to help!

Yup it's the freaking a-pipe thats making that noise. I have still in my stock header. I got an extra stock header to replace it for now but just like with my JDM 4-1 it's still chilling waiting for me to have some time to install it.
Cheapest way to fix this is to look for a used GSR header for around $50 or so....
