got a q (crx/ls(t b18)
I had a integra and got a new ls engine with only 6k miles on it and my teg got recked by my mom but the frame was wrapped but the engine came out fine, i now have a grand am gt 2.3 dohc oh 4cyl and i it has alot of miles on it. i was wondering i have a friend willing to sell a stock 88 crx for 1,000. I also have someone to bore out the ls engine i was thinking about dropping in the crx. I was wondering i have not messed with a crx even tho i think they are the coolest little things and want to real bad! but will that bored engine in the crx be strong enough to pull the grand am off the line or would the gt pull faster off? I guess what i want to know is, will the crx pull stronger and win or will the gt ?
grand am's are really slow.
dude, it all depends on how healthy the engine is that will be in the CRX. me and a friend were messing around once when i first got the LS engine in my CRX and i beat his 6 cylinder Grand Prix real good off of the line and after.
woopty freakin doo, who cares if you can beat a Pontiac that isn't a V8. i know i didnt when we ran our cars that time. that DOHC Grand Am probably runs a 17.5 1/4 mile or slower so you can count on your CRX beating it with (even a little D16 in it) by far.

well i took the grand am to the track and pulled a 15.3, 15.7 and a 15.2 and only think modded is the clutch and weight reduction, with a 4 rpm drop start and double clutching 3rd and 4th gear. The grand am IS faster than my ls integra which had catback with 4-1 headers and v2 intake and stage 2 clutch set(seeing that i dragged both and times are better in gt) thats why i was wondering this question. Is the ls engine better in the crx cuz of weight and gear ratio's or is it close to the same as the integra.
btw thanks, crx_1.8t for being mature and helping, i thank you for that

a stock ls turbo crx will pull your pants off and rape you, lol. from what i hear turbo ls's built such as bored/sleeved/pisons/rods and minor head work will push almost 400 whp. just go watch videos of Cheesefrog's ls-t hatch at http://www.cheesefrog.com! i only mention this becauses once you drop the ls into the crx, it will be fast enough to beat some of the ricers, and youll hunger for more, and the ls (especially in prime condition) has a bunch of potential in a crx even if you are not looking to turbo it later on. and hey, if you have a prime motor and a cheap crx shell to put it in, what else is there to do? get to work!!! lol. good luck!
