oil cap rubs against hood...engine is higher on pass. side
when i was at the crxpo someone asked me if my engine is tilted..
then it hit me...thats exactly why my oil cap is rubbing against my hood.
i just thought it was because my engine torqued alot.

but anyway...is there a way to lower the engine a bit? i had to replace the passenger side motor mount and transmission bracket twice before. could i maybe put some washers in there and make it sit a little lower?
any help is appreciated...

the first time it was because of the mount itself..i didnt know so i just replaced the transmission bracket. the second time it broke it still had the same mount and new bracket. so i replaced the mount and bracket and its been fine ever since.
but ever since i got the car the dent in the hood has been getting worse...any ideas?

washers would space it down, but there has to be a reason.
an accident is the only thing i can think of. should take the car to a body shop and have them measure it.

Are you running a beast that pushes out 500hp to the wheels ? Because its not the engine torque, and even if your engine did torque, it would be front to back. Anyways I'm putting my money on your car being in an accident, check it out on carfax and see what comes back. There are 2 free carfax threads in the general section.

the first time, when the mount was bad, it might be because the motor wasn't sitting in the engine bay right, most likely after an accident, like everyone else is suspecting. The motor not sitting right caused extra stress on the old mount and caused it to sag..
so you replaced the mount that was sagging a bit with a new mount and the motor is now sitting up a little higher because the new mount won't sag..
where did you get the replacement mount from? ...just to rule out that you got a poorly manufactured mount...

Man luck your have not installed a B-series motor. If you were planning on doing that then you will have to have a huge hole cut out of the hood like the Silverbullet CRX back in the days.
If the passenger side frame is bent then the rear and front mounts should also be bent so take a close look at the front mount, and the rear mount and also the rear mount bracket.

it might be a beast but it only has about 110whp. and it could be the engine tourqe because it has no front engine mount(it used to have a b18) and a cut up hood...
i also got carfax before i bought the car and everything checked out fine. but then again it may or may NOT have been reported. i cant visually see any damage or would suspect but im going to get it checked out anyway.

no...the first time, the passenger side broke, then it did the same again a month later. even before it ever broke it was rubbing against the hood...
parts are replaced with OEM parts from the honda dealership(through a friend) so i dont think it could've been a bad mount..

Is the Mount location for an Auto the same as Maual on the EF's??
I thought they were but if not then this could be the cause.
