Default Temperature gauge not working after heater hose replaced

i recently had to replace the heater hose right below the radiator hose because it ripped while driving causing coolant to get all over and almost overheating. that day i did not have a way to get a new hose so i just cut it where it ripped and reconnected. temp gauge still worked.

next day i replace the heater hose and fill it to the brim with coolant, doesnt seem to be running too hot or close to overheating anymore but now the temperature gauge is stuck below C. i've driven it around and let it warm up, but it just doesnt budge. what should i begin to check?

you probably pulled the single wire sensor loose by accident. it should be a yellow/green single wire look for a small brown sensor on the passenger side of head. note* not the green/red, that is coolant temp sensor for your ecu.

first you do not need to remove distributor.
that said, you will nee a small silver tip on the brown sensor(male)
the wire has a rubber/plastic cover and it just pushes on there, do not overthink it, its really that simple.

i dont see a metal or silver tip of any sort and the wire is just copper wiring around a green/yellow tubing, i'll just try to jame the copper wiring into the end of the sensor and see if that does the trick. thanks for the info
