Temp gauge on hot even with new sensor
Hi,
i need your help. I have a 97 Acura RL and I noticed the temperature gauge needle started to up while I was driving so I came back home. No steam was visible. After the motor cold down checked coolant level and everything was good. No coolant leaks under car. Check fuses everything is OK. Turn car on again and the needle started to go up. It keep getting worse, it would take 5 minutes for needle to go all the way up and now it takes less than 1 minute. Change coolant temperature sensor next to upper radiator hose and that didn't help either - needle still goes all the way up to hot.
Checked car with just ignition switch on and temperature gauge needle still goes to hot. Disconnected coolant temperature sensor with ignition switch on and needle stay on hot- does not move. However, when I disconnect wire harness from sensor I hear a clicking sound.
