Here is a copy/paste of the guys ad, thinking about getting the car but can't decide if it's worth it or not. He's asking around 4k~ I'm meeting up with him tomorrow to check it out. Here are a few pics of it he sent me.

1996 gsr head
98 usdm type R complete bottom end (pistons,rods,crank,ect)
*still has the V.I.N. plate on it*
DC sports 4-2-1 header
car has a cheap intake on it
LS Tranny
Short shifter
Has a chipped ecu vtec at 6k with no redline "

 

Damn.. check out the VIN see if its legit, get a mechanic to see if the swap is done well, looks like a good find for 4g's to me

 

Not bad. Bring a Firend who knows a bit about Honda's with you. Sometimes i find it that when you look at something sombody also lookin at the same thing will find something different. He might spot some things you might now.

 

it might be cheap because of the salvage title,..and in the second pic of the car,..looks like the rear quarter panel right on top of the tire looks kinda fucked up

 

Seems like a good deal.

but, it is also obvious that the salvage title is due to an accident. I would still buy it and then later on get a better shell and swap over all the good pieces.

 

haha thats funny this car is my brother old car and he traded the kid whos sellin it for a blazer..lol its a good car and runs strong..beleive me and it ran good when he had it...id get it if i were you, we did teh swap in our shop and we did it right..

 

it seems like its in decent shape... like said before id buy a eg shell and swap everything over..... but id say to get it...

true but he could of even made it better and took hella care of it

 

well i would never buy a pre swapped car... its just how i am... unless the swap was done by a well known shop then id consider it...

i know for a fact the kid who had it before didnt run the **** out of it

 

your car has more **** done to it then mine when i bought it. all mine had was an ls with gsr tranny and i bought it for 4700. seems like you're getting the better deal.

and be careful, 8 ppl already vouched for owning this car in this thread already lol, i think i mighta owned it at one time too....lol, dont want a car thats been drivin by everyone, specially with a swap done

y is the VIN number missing on the tranny? did u buy the tranny brand new?

when i had it, it had a stock motor. the guy i sold it to swapped it
