Default big troubles maybe....help...88-91 civic

my son was messing with his car and he jumped the blue service connector with a paper clip...trying to check codes i think. then he started to turn the car over...and POP... IT SOUNDED LIKE A FUSE BLOWING..is there a fuse for this? or what the hell happened?

Check the fuse boxes under the dash and on the right strut tower.
The service connector is used to set timing.
Check codes under the passenger side carpet on the ecu.

Even if it was the timing connector, that shouldn't pop a fuse? I've done it a ton of times on my car when setting the timing.
