Opinions needed
Hey guys, I found a white 91 CRX Si for sale and wanted your opinion on the price.
164k miles. owned by a Honda/Acura mech. shop for 5 years, 1 owner before that. Mechanically, it's very nice. It seems to run fine, halfshafts are not popping, no smoke at all. Cosmetically its very nice. Original paint so it's not "show ready" but has only like 2 or 3 small scratches on the body, maybe one more on the rear bumper. Interior is pretty nice too. Seats are not torn or worn thin. Carpet is a little shabby, but not bad. Dash is fine. Doorpanels have cuts in them where the seatbelt got caught in the door jams.
Anyway, overall I would give the car a good 7.5 out of 10 for an all original, unmodified car.
Here's the deal. First he said $4500 which I basically laughed at and walked away. Now he has come down to $3000. Would you guys give $3k for this 91 CRX? or should I look for a cheaper car? I seriously doubt he will come down on the price anymore...but it is worth a try!

3k for a all original un-molested car is not that bad. I've seen shitboxes go for 2k that would of needed 5k more to get it decent. If it hasn't been wrecked and no rust I would do it. They're getting harder and harder to find stock and clean
i got my b16 CRX for 3900 you can do way better look up Roman's Crx in http://www.Cardomain.com and you will see it. I say no way.
I think Supply&Demand works to his favor in this instance. Obviously he sees the demand...I stopped to look at the car. Supply is very short for very nice CRX Si's, especially in Middle Tennessee.
I came across a red 95 DX HB a little while ago for $2600, but I dragged my feet too long and it sold.
Anyway, If the CRX is still there Friday when I get by bonus check, Im going to try to get him to $2800...maybe wave the stack of benjis in his face.

seems about right.

I have to agree that $2500 and up for this car is Premium $$$. I would probably lose money if I turned around and sold it. I have to think about that. on the other hand, if I want to keep the car, It's not overly-expensive for a damn clean 91 Si. I will try to get him down to $2500. like I said before, if I start waving benjis in his face, the price might be more variable. If I can get into a real nice Crx or HB, then I can start paying off the $5k that Im upside-down on this damn Evo and get it SOLD!
good crxs are getting harder to find bring money 3000 and tell him 2500 but 3000 is worth it especially if it is an si.
I bout a 88 si crx for 1840 it has a ZC motor run great 204,000 mi on the car not the motor though the motor has about 50,000 needs pant needs interior but not bad looking from far and far from good but its getting nicer every week, got new seats from junk yard, did some paint touch up,lowered it, 4 wheel disc brakes, and just cleaned it up I must have 1000 more into it now but it look ok now.
So its good to pay more money for a done car. But I like the challenge to fix things

i live in ohio and i noticed the rex is more expensive here, less supply, and most have rust on them. if there is no rust and the engine seems strong and you plan on keeping the stock engine is probably not a bad deal. ya have to think if the car was junk they wouldn't have it on the lot. id offer 2500 and go from there.

**** that
give him an envelope of $2400 cash and that **** is yours.
if he turns it down he's ******* stupid.
EDIT: if he tries to haggle you up, then tell him you'll do $2500 cash, last offer. Then leave, but give him your phone number.

that **** works every time
the only thing that will stop it is if the guy's got a loan to pay off, cause he's not going to take any less than he owes..

No loan to pay off. The car is at Accurate Automotive, a shop that specializes in Honda/Acura. They have had the car as a "shop" car for 5 years and it was a one owner before that.
Yeah, I think slapping the stack of $100s down will grease the wheels a bit. We will find out tomorrow. Tomorrow is when I get the $$$ to hit him with.
I will update this thread and if I get it I will post pics of it.
