i was looking at buying a shell of an 1989 crx si and when i open the doors and the hatch they seemed to be heavy and hard to open are they all like that or could they be really old thx

 

they are all old and heavy like that

 

the hatch is actually really light it is the glass on the hatch that weighs so much, and yes if the lifts are blown it will be very heavy and not stay open

 

The crx doors in the 89-91 are very heavy I have a 88 si and the doors are very light. It's beacuse my seat belts are in the car and not connected to the door. The seat belts connected to the door is what makes it heavy. Get a 88 hf or si model. They are lighter than the years after them. 88 si model is 100 pounds lighter than the years after. The 88 hf is even 100 pounds lighter the than 88 si. Hope that helps.

 

89 HF also did not have the door mounted seat belts.

 

yeah i think the lifts are blown, its hard to open then i just slamms shut, also the doors also have the sealbelt mounted on it. is there anyway you can mount the seat belt to the inside of the car its a 89 crx si also
