me and a few friends have been talking about making one of these for a while and i was wondering if anyone has ever done this before. I was thinking i could use some 1/4in steel and plasma cut out a rectangle and bend it into a L, then cut some side reinforcements and weld it together. Am i making this too comlicated? i'll make a pic in paint to show what i'm talking about later

 

how much does a MC move? and how much would a brace improve braking?

 

i forgot who had a video if them pressing on the brakes to show how much it flexed.
it moves quite a bit.
because of the firewall flexing.
there was a big discussion about it i think on the type r forum hit it up on the seach i think it will come up

 

yeah i saw that video, some people said that attaching the brace to the strut tower area can cause it to flex throwing off your suspention geomertry, we've come to the conclusion that even it if does, it's not going to effect anything. Also it will probally help alot to use some wide washers to increase the surface area of the mount, i'm making a gettho pic right now

yeah the eggman ones are for EF's and the Drives are for EG, EK, and DC's

 

I used to have that very brace on my EF. It made my brakes work much better in terms of stiffness of the pedal. It really makes the brakes much more responsive.

Maybe you can get something CNCd...
