Default b18c1 crx first time at track with new motor 13s all motor times inside

Well I went to delmar us 13 dragway tonight and made my first 13 second pass. I was launching at 5500 rpm on slicks (13 lenso on 22 MH). Here are times below

R/T .015 .376
60 2.055 2.010
330 5.8 5.797
1/8 8.946 8.908
MPH 79.79 79.58
1000 11.633 11.593
1/4 13.920 13.885
MPH 98.53 98.17

Hondaguyef took the car for a ride too and did a little bit better than i did.

R/T .107
60 1.987
330 5.713
1/8 8.791
MPH 79.96
1000 11.471
1/4 13.762
MPH 98.11

There is definately room for improvement on those passes but overall im very happy so far. I think if we launch at 6500 or 7000 the car wont bogg off the line like it did on both tries tonight. I had full throttle launch set at 5500 and couldnt change it while i was at track because no one had uberdata 1.6 But I'll be trying again next weekend at cecil county. Here is setup below of car

1989 crx hf (rear gutted)
94 b18c1
Lads Port and polished head
Super tech valves, springs, retainers
ctr cams
stock bottom end (rebuilt)
skunk2 intake manifold with 64 mm throttle body port matched
ebay 3 inch intake with k & n filter
megan racing header with 2.5 collect
2.5 pipe all the way back
magnaflow 2.5 high flow cat
flowmaster 2.5 in and 2.5 out muffler
94 gsr tranny with quaife lsd

Tell me what you think oh yeah im still throwing that damn oxygen sensor code

These ETs were made more with good launches than horsepower. Note the ~2.0 second 60 foot times (that's about as good as it gets). This is why trap speed is so low for the ET. On the other hand, my car runs high trap speeds for the ET since I don't launch well.

2.0 60' on slicks is not "as good as it gets"? I think If we would have had a 6500 or 7k FTL 1.8's would have not been a problem. The LSD,Full race bar and slicks= killer traction therefore, we need to launch higher to prevent the bog. The low traps are because of the starting line bog.

no way.. you can get lower with the slicks he's using..

are you getting much tire spin?

what are you using for engine management?

p28 with stock gsr maps with a full throttle launch set at 5500 and rev limiter at 8600. Im raising the full throttle launch higher probably 7500. Im using uberdata for my setup with a plx wideband. I have some tuning to do and change the ftl. I think it should run low 13s easily and if i learn to drive better a 13.9 on street tires.

No tire spin what so ever. The car was bogging off of the line when launching @ 5500. Much room for improvement

thanks for all the good input guys. I'll let you what i run at cecil county...im goign to be on street tires that day because i told hondaguyef that he could use my slicks. But I'm still going to aim for a 13.9 pass on street tires.

Yea, you can definitely get a better launch than 2.0 with slicks. Hell, I got a 2.2 with stiff side walled azeni's, drag radials are good for around 2.0 plus or minus a few, and slicks even better. Someone in the forced induction forum just cut a 1.5 60', and I've seen plenty of 1.6's, and 1.7's etc. 2.0 is not as good as it gets.

i'm just thinking in terms of HP vs mods.

He's trapping at the same MPH i'm trapping at, with a plethora more mods. he's got headwork, cams, etc... I have a Skunk2 intake manifold... that's about it.

The low trap is due to the horrible bog off of the line. I thought that was established already?

ya... raise the launch rpm.. and tune alot more.. you shouldn't be close at all w/ a stock gsr map..

you've changed so much from a oem gsr motor that you should try a stock itr map even. (cams, head work, lack of butterflys)
