Default JUST GOT SCREWED!!!

I just got my jdm type r swap in my 93 delsol done, and the head casting is PR3-1. What head is this from?? It is supost to be a all original 98 j spec type r but the castings say 92-93 gsr (pr3-1) on the head did I get the bone or what?? PLEASE help!! thanks in advance, just about to have a heart attack here!!

can you find any marking that sais p73 on the head?
keep in mind a type r head is a b16 head so the pr3 is there on all of them

yea b16 and b18c5/ b18c-R have PR3-? on them but i thought that the PR3-1 was early head and the PR3-3 and PR3-4 ere the later models??

The block hould have B18C stamped on it. On the head there should be a P30 between the cam on the dist. side.you can see it without removing anything.

if the motor is already in the car and you have driven it, you can instantly tell if it is a R motor.

So it should have a 30 between the dizzy and v-tech solenoid? or it shouldn't?

type r says PR3 as well...not p72...but as far as year...yea ide say you were screwed

Yes. All factory Type R head are second gen. B16A Head, but with P&P. Thats why there is a P30 stamped between the cam. So if there isn't then it's probley a first gen B16A head. Then you should check really carefully. In another word you can get a GSR B18C jdm block put a Second Gen. B16A head. red valve cover, and a ITR intake man. and it would look so damn close to type r motor you would have to look very closely to tell the diffrent.
