what exactly does a cyp sensor do or fuction as?
i know it says it is the #1 cylinder position sensor but what exactly does it mean and is it critical??? i have a code for it but car seems to be fine.....any ideas

It tells the ecu where the engine is at so it can orchestrate fuel and spark events...

i weas farting with the timing and forgot to put the jumper in the harness to reset it and what not then rewired the map and tps sensors and adjusted the tps....is the CYP a huge deal or what?? thanks

Yes, its a big deal.
There are 3 sensors inside the distributor that synchronize all fueling and timing events: TDC, CYL, CKP

so whats it gonna do if i dont get it right? i have put 2 dizzys on it now and same **** but car is running ok so far so good.......thanks
