I posted this in the appearance/cosmetic forum too, but I need a pretty quick answer Does anyone know if the rear underbody spoiler from the 99-00 Civic will fit the 96-98 Civics as well? Any help is greatly appreicated

 

It should fit. I don't think the rear bumper is different on the 96-98 compared to the 99-00. I think it's only the front bumper, lamps, and "maybe" the hood.

 

Thanks, that's what I thought. I asked on a different forum and they said it wouldn't fit, but like you, the only difference I'm aware of is with the front. Oh, well

 

same back bumper...whatever fits on the 96-98 will fit on the 99-00.

It may fit but I am almost sure that there is a difference in the two bumpers. Seems like the 99-00 are a little more curved up on the end.

Before u guys say that there is no difference, please recheck and see the two bumper again, they are different. I have both the 99 and 98 rear bumper and they are not the same.

 

By the way, the rear lip of from the 99 does not fit on the 96-98 rear bumper.

 

Yep, you're right! A co-worker has a '00 EX coupe and her bumper is different...... from outward appearances they seem identical, but once you look UNDERNEATH, the '00 coupe has the holes where the lip bolts into place while my '97 Civic has no holes, just a smooth surface. Oh well, I really liked the look of that lip

They are different. I have a 96 civic coupe and had to get a 00 civic rear bumper just to add the lip.
