Do I need a new battery or what (Blinker) 1998 Acura CL 3.0
just got my cl a few weeks ago. I've noticed lately that when i put on the blinker or load the system up, the lights dim, and brighten and dim and brighten, in unison with my turn signals.
I had acura test the alternator out put, and they said it was fine. Its a delphi alternator, not delco, so it was probably replaced once already.
So whats up? Battery, Relay somewhere, what would you all suggest checking now? maybe batter output??
The battery in there is an Acura/Honda motors battery, could be origional.

I have already checked the grounds and cleaned the battery terminals.

ive got a similar problem with my 97 CL. except my lights dim when i either roll my windows up or the AC kicks in. does it happen while driving or does it only do it while idling. mine only does it while idleing. i guess its that extra power drain but then the idle RPM automatically increases by like 100 to compensate. or maybe you could have a small short somewhere that your turn signal wires and headlamp wires get close together. like when you put an amp power wire next to a speaker wire and you hear the music get louder or distort with engine revs.
as for your audio system, if you have alot of bass, that could cause your lights to dim if you are drawing 800+ watts, and in some cases 400 or so watts. and if acura tested the alternator output the probably didnt take into account the extra strain your audio system(if this is the case) puts on the alternator. in those cases the amp manufacturer actually recommends buying an aftermarket or performance alternator. something will be able to handle the load more effeciently( i know i cant spell.) anyway man i hope this helps. if not then check the battery. just bc it says honda motors doesnt mean its old they could have put it in at a dealer tune up. of course i dont know how well the acura batteries hold up either.
you can email me at nazi_killas@yahoo.com or just reply here and ill get to it as soon as i can.

i'm thinking voltage regulator in the alternator
if i keep my heated seats, or the climate control on, they light dont dim when the blinker is on. i guess the batter acts sorta like a cap.
