Default OT: Valentine 1 users...

Ok, way off topic. But, V1 is THE only choice in protection when it comes to protecting against 5-0 fundraisers.

... those who have a V1, have you ever experienced your LASER warning go off when there seems to be no laser source anywhere to be seen?!?

Mine has done this twice. Once, it could've been from a cop hiding somewhere... 'cuz I was in the middle of no-where-Oregon and I got zapped coming down a huge hill. (I was going 5-mph over in my AE86... so no worries there.)

My second experience seems not as obvious though... I was driving my neighborhood and I got the laser warning. But, there's NOTHING in sight anywhere! I've heard that newer model LED brakelights might trigger the warning.

So, my question is this..

Has your V1 ever gone off due to LED brake lights??

Most common taillights that trigger the V1 are from the Chevy Trailblazer. V1 is a great line of defense. I sold mine to a friend but may pick one up later on when a new version is out.

i pick up alot of laser warnings when im going into pittsburgh, but there no cops around and the state of pa doesnt use lasers for tracking speed. i sorta narrowed it down to the signs before the tunnels that tell you traffic conditions, but thats only my guess that thats whats doing it. ill have to pay attention to see if it could be the LED brake light equipped cars around me.

Yes, mine goes off a lot under the signs that tell you current road conditions.

When my cellphone goes into "search" mode it sets off K band every 3 or 4 seconds

What other cars have LED taillights?

My V1 goes off occasionally with the laser warning. For people familiar with Raleigh, Hillsborough St. directly across from the State library emits some type of laser that triggers the V1.

Very few false laser alarms...the thing it loves to pickup is automatic door openers at stores and stuff...you can adjust it though so it picks up less of those....

There has never been a new V1, only updates and software upgrades. I dont think anyone really knows when the next update is though.

The bright lights they use for illumination of gas stations etc will set off the laser sensor too.

I've been saved many times with the LIDAR detection on my V1.

If you send in an old one for an upgrade - you get the new thinnner chassis and motherboard upgrade.

V1s are the shizz

Sell the old one on ebay for 300 bucks and buy the 1.8 outright...that upgrade is a ripoff...not worth the money.

No.

Yes - but those are radar false alarms, not the alternating pitch sound of the laser alarms.

It's updated constantly. They don't wait to introduce new features and performance all at once.

I disagree. Mine is seven and one half years old. Anyone would be a fool to pay $300 for it. Heck, I'd be lucky to get $200 for it. But for $229, I can trade it in for a brand new one (worth $399) any time I want. Regardless of whether you want to do so or not, it's nice to have the option; no other brand offers that.

hm not sure about that i just sold my V! version 1.8 for 340. i see them pull 350-375 all day long, i bet you could still get 300 for yours.
my logic is sell mine for 340, buy their NEW Version 1.9 with POP protection for 400, instead of paying the 150ish upgrade fee.

My laser has been triggered by Neon red signs, LED tailights (and on a couple occasions non-LED lights), and one time it went off with absolutely nothing in sight...

I have a 1.8 though. I dont think they've made any changes to how the laser is detected.
