A few "mods" for my first day home w/ the 'teg
Well I finally got through all my exams and home to my car, so I decided to try some of the stuff you guys have been talking about. First I got some Phillips 9005 Blue Vision (I think that's what they're called) and chopped 'em up to fit in the low beams. I used a small (sharp) chisel which actually worked really well. A nice improvement, nothing earth-shattering. I also got some amber 194's and replaced the gauge lights, it looks awesome! Very close to the Type R (Bah, go ahead and call me a rice-boy
) It does look a little weird since the climate control/radio are still that bluish-white color, but oh well. Finally I tightened up the throttle cable, and wow what a difference! The throttle is much more sensitive. Very easy to do, just make sure to check the idle, I had to let it out some to get back to ~750. I'm coming up to 60k (about 100 more miles!) so I will be doing all that fun stuff soon too. Probably after x-mas though. Happy holidays everyone!

High beam bulbs in low beam sockets =
, improved night vision for low bucks compared to overkill ricebulbs that cost 60 bucks a pair. And amber is a nicer tone, less harsh at night...riceboy

Those some like some great things to do to the car during my break. I was just wondering where you got the blubs and how hard it was to install them.
I just did the 9005 conversion myself. I am very happy with the results. You can find all the information you need at http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Upgrade/More_light.htm I used Slyvania Cool Blues. They were $15 each and emit a brighter white light compared to the stock 9005s.

The 9005 conversion was easy. Just go to BSQ's website; he has a very good how-too. I think it's http://www.geocities.com/brettq I picked up the Phillips at Strauss Auto, any auto store should have them. After a few nights I'm liking it a lot. Noone's flashed me yet (that's high beams, you sickos!) either.
