Default REVIEW: HKS HI-Power Exhaust EP3

What can I say about this exhaust? OK I will say AWESOME!

INSTALL: VERY EASY! In all 40 minutes..HKS is such good quality that it was actually a pleasure installing this..Everything lined up, bolted right on..Exhaust included new gaskets, grade 8 bolts and washers..TIP- An hour before installing exhaust spray all the bolts (especially around cat with liquid wrench) comes off like butter. Beautifully engineered system

Sound: Deep, Deep bass..Never for a moment raspy..Normal cruising speeds their is a slight low grumble sound that even made my girlfriend wet At WOT this just screams, low and deep sounding, not rice at all!

Performance: I would highly suggest this to anyone..At most this thing makes around 6-9 hp..On the butt dyno the car seems allot more torquey, pulls hard all the way to redline..Since the rest of my motor is now stock there was only so much power you can expect from just an exhaust..

Overall, the HKS gets an It transformed not only the performance of my car but also the entire outside personality as well...The older I get the more I realise how much cheaper it is to buy quality stuff from the get go, instead of buying something cheap and having to do it over twice

is it loud enough to get pulled over? I'm also wondering if it's Carb legal. I love the slanted look of HKS. Good choice, I'm looking into it also.

I guess it depends on your definition of loud..It is one of the quietest exhausts out though, especially with the silencer installed.. I don't believe exhaust are subject to carb laws only noise laws..Carb only cares about emissions..as long as your cats in place

Completely agreed. Aftermarket pieces that bolt up with no problems are so nice to work with. I've had plenty that don't and it's frustrating.

I use to have a stock looking magnaflow painted black running 2.5 pipe no cat on my built GSR ek hatch that was 10x louder than this HKS unit, and never got pulled over..I think 90% of getting pulled over for exhaust is visual, most cops won't agree to that but it's true..And unfortuatley the HKS is very visual, you can see it a mile away, even though you may not be able to hear it a mile away...know what I mean?

i love my hi-power, but it's a pain with the progress rear sway kit. i repeat, it's a pain with the progress rear sway kit. the rear section piping literally lays on the progress rear sway. i still recommend it to my fellow ep bubbas.

jaypee. have you been to any of our norcal ephatch meets? never seen nor met you i believe. saki run, dec 11.

I agree! HKS HP is an awesome exhaust. I helped install one on an AE86, sounds so mean, I want one for myself. It's the next upgrade I need to get.

I loved my HKS when I had my EP3. The look was sweet and I absolutly loved the sound. It maybe a little loud for daily driving but it was just right for me with no silencer. I give it a

For real! I can't believe that HKS msrp for the base model RSX and the Type S are the same price, and they are cheaper than the Civic Si! What the hell!
