Default cleaning cai help!

i have a 94 accord 4 door with a AEM cold air intake, its been on for a while and i just got a cleaning kit for it. I have no idea how to reach my filter to get it out. Should i take off the bumper or that box under the car that extends over my front right wheel? no idea

What box under the right front wheel? That box is the resonator, which if I'm not mistaken shouldn't be there if the C.A.I is on. Just get under the car, remove part of the fender liner then you should see the filter. Loosen it and yank it off. It's pretty simple.

well there is a box covering the cai it has some air holes that i pulled some dead leaves out of.... so with a cai i shouldnt reattach it? Im scared of getting it hydrolocked. Because its been raining a lot for the past few days.

I've never seen an C.A.I. with a covering the filter. I seriously doubt you will hydrolock without that box. I've beend driving around with a C.A.I. for years and never came close to hydrolocking. If you're that concerned about it get a bypass valve.

No no no hes talking about the splash gaurd! hahah hey buddy al you got to do it look in the wheel well and you see lil black plug looking things just pop those off and remove the plastick splash gaurd.... use a screw driver to try to get them off... i suggest tho to go to your local auto parts store and try to find some plugs that are the same size becuase usualy they break when you try to take them off.. they cost abotu 1.50 for a box of about 5 soo no sweat....try to get under your front bumper and only remove the ones close to the filter to save you the trouble ok thats it need anymore help? oh ye amake sure your replacement plugs fit very snug or else you slpash guard will fly off once you start drivng but thats only if they fit loosley ok gl

14aZnS i love u man! but i just got back from the test drive AFTER i did all that and cleaned the air filter, sucks i didnt check up on HT while i was doing this. I also cleaned the engine while waiting for it to dry and crap. Good point a lot of those plugs broke im only using like 5 out of 8 ratio of plugs on my resonator right now. Strangely when i cleaned the filter it didnt look that clean..still kinda dark. but when i added the oil it was a lot better, still dark. But that doesnt matter the test drive went great! car sounded nicer, smoother run. sadly i found it a little squished from an old car accident my sister did with the car. not to worry it was no bigger then half a finger.

w0w that was fast lol! oh yea just make sure buddy that those plugs are realy tyte because when you hop on the freeway you might lose the whole splash guard... i found that out the hard way.. i had sum plugs in there that were kinda old haha .. i cleaned my intake 2 weeks ago and i used the same plugs that i bought from autozone over and over and eventualy from taking poping them in and out.. they lost a few teeth to hold them in... i thought it would be fine but nope. so i just bout sun newer ones.. the best ones are the one you have to slightly tap in wiht a hammer to get them all the way in

Well yeah it isn't that hard. There is no need to remove the splash guard. Just a part of the inner fender liner that covers the filter. The splash guard doesn't cover the filter. Once you move that part out of the way, the filter is right there. Loosen it and pull it off. Simple stuff.

No, the splash guard is used to cover the engine or part of it. The part under the wheel well is called the fender liner.
