Default gaping rings?

when you gap you rings how do you file them to size with out a ring filer????

get one of the 5$ hand crank ring filers, something in the back of my head is saying not to use any form of regular metal file because it will chip the rings. i dont know where its comming from but it makes sense.

You need to use a ring filer. If you don't you will chip the ring face and compromise sealing reliability.

k check around a little and no one has one except for the NAPA in La, califorina and im in san diego so thats like a 2 hour drive. they also want 100$. where could I get a cheap one? im gonna be putting the motor back together as soon as I get one.

Just use a VERY FINE file, like a jewelers file or something...Ive used them for gapping rings and it seems to work for me..
