first off what car is it going in to? yes the sohc zc (vtec?) will bolt right in. i would just run a p28 if its vtec, and if its not just use the p06. if you have a vx then yes o2 wiring will have to be done.

sorry i was not clear about that. The car is a 93 dx but I recently had a mini-swap with the vtec wires added already. Also I have a chipped p28 with VAFC installed.

Well I got the engine, I'll be dropping it in this weekend.
Anything special I have over looked? or will everything basically plug up to my OBD1 wire harness?

there was a Vtec dohc ZC engine? Or are you doing a vtec head swap? not to mention are you sure it's an OBD-1 engine? b/c those I understand those were very rare (the zc's).

i think someone is confused....he claims he has the DOHC ZC which is non-vtec but is talking about VTEC wiring:

i can't tell if he has the DOHC non-vtec or the SOHC Vtec???

ok, there was NO dohc vtec zc. what zc specificaly are you putting in the car. there was an obd0 sohc non-vtec zc, an obd0 dohc non-vtec zc, and there are the odb1 sohc vtec. all can be out into the car very easily. There is no such thing as a dohc obd1 zc, sorry. if its dohc then its obd0.

sorry buddy but where you get your info from, i have no idea. there IS an OBD1 dohc zc. i have one sitting in my friend's garage. Do a little more research and you'll find exactly how many different types of ZCs there are.

Okay so I picked up my OBD1 DOHC ZC this weekend and put it in. The engine it has a 6 month warrenty so as long as I don't turbo or use N2O I'm covered. I'm selling the OBD0 to a friend who has a CRX.

The only things that were different were:

1. Needed a longer upper radiator hose.
2. I had to hookup and loop the little sensor on the back top part of my old intake manifold. Anyone know what that is? The sensor itself is connected with a small screw and there is a tub going from the bottom to the intake manifold.

I used my old DX tranny. Basically took out the wireharness from the big round plugs on both sides. Hooked it up the the engine, changed the usual stuff, spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor... water pump... and then just dropped it in, mounted it, pluged everything up, double checked the plugs and hoses. Started it up, had a coolant leak from one of the hoses at the back of the IM cause the hose had a gash i had over looked. Replaced it, everything is running good now, I still have to hook up the axels then I'll update again as to how it runs.
