Default Newbie in need of help for Crx build up.

I just recently bought a 90 crx. What engine should i drop into it if i was going for speed beside torque. I want to put a turbo along with the engine too. Which one is best? which turbo is best? So far, i got my DC 4-2-1 Headers and my whole cat back system with my exhaust tilted at a angle. In 2 days I will get my AEM Blue Colored Cold Air intake. Bought it for 80 dollars flat. I felt a little more horsepower with those installed. Can't wait to do an engine swap and throw in a turbo also.
Before I bought the Crx, I was willing to put over 10,000 dollars into it. So any suggest on the engine? and turbo?

Holy ****, this is asking for a flame fest.

Welcome to the Honda-Tech message board. While enjoying your stay here, you will find out the natives in this great land take offense to very open-ended questions as like the ones you have asked. It is not that they are bad questions, it is just they are asked on average 6-7 times a day by tourists with less then 10 or so posts. The citizens respond harshly with the term, "SEARCH NOOB!" and by accepting the local custom of "Search first, ask later" and "Research twice, ask once" you will be able to avert any altercation you may have with the locals. This has been a paid advertisment by the Honda-Tech tourism board.

You should totally swap in a VTECHK engine and wire up a switch on your dash to turn on the vtechk whenever you want it on for a power boost. You can do a turbo blowing into a supercharger with a NOS shot!!!!

Seriously though, research, research, research.

I guess I could give you somewhat of an informative answer...

You said "going for speed besides torque." Speed [velocity] comes from RPMs the engine is capable of and what transmission you have. Often times, you trade off top speed for acceleration.

Any B-, D-, H-, F-, or K-Series motor can be swapped into a CRX. I've even seen a Chevy 350 powered CRX. Asking which one is best will not get you an answer. Every swap has advantages and disadvantages. You should use the SEARCH function of this site to research what the pros and cons are of the swaps you are interested in.

You mentioned turbocharging. Read the Forced Induction forum for at least a year before you turbocharge your car. Again, use the SEARCH function [great tool].

You mentioned a tilted exhaust. Never mention that again.

Before you spend your ten thousand dollars, read posts, call dealers and manufacturers, seek out people who have products you're interested in and ask them questions, and just be knowledgeable about everything you do to your car.
