Swapping a GSR engine into my 96 Civic DX
I need more power in my civc's 1.6 4 cylinder engine. So I want to swap it for a GSR engine. But I need some advice on which model would work best and how to do it? Also, how hard will it be to find a GSR? I wish I could get a prelude engine to sqeeze into the civic, but that seems impossible, or is it?
use the search button. it helps a lot!!!
but yes both will fit, it's just how much money do you have and how fast do you want to go?

Ok, so would it be possible to drop a SH prelude engine in the civic? Or would the 1.8 GSR be an easier swap? This is all new to me, but I cant' wait to get in to this stuff. Thanks for the help.
The GSR swap would be the easiest. It bolts right in without the use of specialty mounts. Where as the H22 would need a mount kit.
GSR is a good motor for that car. That's what I'd stick with it. It leaves your options open as to what you want to do with you car, drag or road race. Plus the parts are cheaper in the long run.
