By the looks of this schedule, I will be maybe attending a whole 1 NDRA event next year. And to think I was going to give the series a chance.

woah, no need to get that mad. I am suprised with no Ennis though, sounded like the turnout was decent there.

I am at least lucky to be here in Colorado, it is a little less of a drive.

Anyone else think this might be trying to divide the Sport Compact scene? NDRA east cost and NHRA west coast...

I think that NOPI has looked at all the events they held this year as well as looked at all the events that NHRA held to see where the largest attendance were. This year I went to Etown DC Cordova Virginia Bristol Texas1 and 2 as well as Pomona. Texas and Pomona did not even come close to the attendance that all those other east coast events drew. Everyone has to understand that NHRA and NOPI are business to they need cooperate backing for booths and sponsors. Sponsors want thousands of people in the stands not hundreds. the west coast just doesn't have the draw anymore. It all comes down to that!

oh please! That sounds mature!

It's all about the fans! Racers bring the fans, bad thing for west coast residents is that racers may be plentiful, but not general public willing to go an watch.

and nothing in Texas.

I hate to be a cry baby, but at least west coast has NHRA & BOTI. Texas has not a single event now. It has already been said that NHRA isn't coming back either. Doesn't seem right to me. Just look at the pro4cyl class. Kenny Tran(dallas), Bryan Jiminez(houston), Andrew "the bear" Bermea(Austin), Chuck Sitsinger(Oklahoma City).. Up and coming and established pro's from the area. There are alot of up and coming Turbo4 & Powerstreet cars in this area as well. I am just suprised Texas wont have a single event. at all.

Maybe someone needs to step up and organize an event like WIC (w/ awesome payouts) in Texas because there is definitly going to be a big demand out here without a single event coming through. Ennis can pull people from Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Shreveport, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Memphis and even El Paso...

As some have said, it comes down to numbers. The NHRA Texas event was weak at best. The only worse event that I attended was the NHRA in St. Louis. I like Texas and I would go back, it just seems the people don't support it.

yeh, i dont blame nhra after that event, nor nopi for not going back to houston. I am just surprised after the nopi ennis. turbo4 had 16 cars. all motor 16 cars. Pro 4cyl was super competitive. Powerstreet even had 8 cars. I guess the #'s weren't good enough though.
