Mission: Build B18C
I just recently bought a 1998 GSR shell for $2300.00. It has no motor, tranny, pedals, front brakes, AC, or PS. I just bought a Darton Sleeved GSR block on ebay last night. What kind of advice can my fellow HT members give me as far as building my motor for a Stage 4 Full-Race turbo. My block does not come with a crank shaft and its got a 84mm bore. I'm starting from a block and working my way up.
Give me a piece of your minds.
BTW: I will post pics as soon as i get a camera.

um.. wouldn't it be easier and cheaper and smarter to just buy a working GSR for 2-4 grand more then build it up? but i guess if you want a project and have the cash and time.. have fun.. i guess.
Well, how much power do you want to achieve? You can bolt on a "Stage 4 full Race Turbo" onto a stock car if you wanted to.
Give us your power goals, and we can tell you what's good.

hoping for around 500-600 whp on the teggy in the long run. so in other words, what parts should i buy that are most reliable. like Crower cams and stroker or Crane cams and stroker?

the stock gsr girdle is fine if your block still has it. As far as the pistons/rods, i'd say definately go w/ CP pistons (they're one of the top pistons out), for rods you can go w/ crower, manley, pauter and carillo. Hope that helps for the pistons/rods stuff...oh yeah i suggest using oem honda bearings too. Search around for more info on the other stuff you'd need to support the 500+ power...fuel lines, engine management...etc.
