Ok well my sunroof is cracked and I have a new one to install. My problem is I cant seem to get the damn thing off. It use allan wrenches and I cant get enough leverage to loosen the nuts. Its ridicuolous!!! I hate that, why dont they just use sockets.

Anywways I call around and the average price for labor is 100.00!!!!

This sucks.....any ideas?

So they can make you go to the dealer and pay that $100+

Its not even a qoute from a dealer

 

You might try buying a screwdriver bit set with allen heads, or one of the T-handle allen sets. I love my t-handle allen set, they are probably $10-20 depending on where you buy it, but you can get much better leverage with them.

 

i got my sunroof from the junkyard for $100 and installed it myself w/out and problems.....i used one of those racheting screwdriver thingies w/the snaky end that you can just put the bits on......see if someone you know has one of those you can borrow, or just buy one cuz itd be cheaper than paying labor anyways!

 

We just broke the sunroof in for fun cuz the car croaked. If I were you, and couldn't get the damn thing off, call around to different places and see what they charge (not just one place) and go with the cheapest. idk, either that or I can talk to my dad's mechanic and see else you can do, Idk off hand. sorrie

 

I thought the sunroof was 4 12mm bolts holding it in? Getting the actual roof off the rack is a pain, so Id just buy the entire assembly from somebody parting out a car. Also, $100 seems pretty cheap to get it installed to me...
