Default B series AUTOMATIC into EF

I need some serious information on what is required to install a B16 or any other B series engine with an automatic transmission.
i do not need suggestions on converting the car to manual. that is not an option. i do not need snide remarks on the inefficiency of such conversion. this car is not going to be a racerboi special.
i do want to inject some ***** into my newly acquired LX, so i can give it to my sister (did i say no racerboi? call it a racergrrrl car).
any information for such conversion will earn you my respect and thanks.

The only issue that i could really see is the mounting of the engine, (transmission mount)
you might want to call hasport and see what they say.

An automatic is not going to go in their without cutting and welding at the very least. First of all, your typical mount kit as made for a manual transmission. Automatics mount up quite differently. Then there is the issue of the actual physical size of the transmission itself. Simply put, B-series automatic transmissions are ALOT bigger than manual transmissions. I don't know if there is even enough room under the hood of an ED/EF.

well all that is quite disheartening. the car is an automatic already so the linkage should not be an issue. i'll shoot an email to brian, see what he can suggest.
91civicLX, your sig gave me another idea. a blown D16A6, with the automatic tranny. that, or force my sister to learn standard.
thanks to everyone.

It has been done but it probably requires a lot of modification, I remember the one person doing it said the main reason he was putting an auto in there was because of the stall on it would help the turbo lag.

you got any info on that person? this site's search netted bashing of automatic transmissions and juvenile chest-beating about 1/4 times and no solid first-hand experience.

hey guy

please reread your first post and then tell me again what I said that was wrong.

here you go you ******* idiot:

so i assume you want to just do a basic swap. Well guess what, the zc motor IS EASIER TO INSTALL, COSTS LES TO INSTALL, has basically NO MORE POWER than the b16, and doesn't require WELDING.

so did i miss the point? Or are you just a ******* ****?

the funny thing is I know EXACLY what you need to put the auto b16 in your car, and you're not gonna find out from me.

have fun searching you ******* bitch.

EDIT: the funniest part is the less help you get the more money you'll spend. SO good luck.

ZC motor: $650...
installation: $0

B16 automatic: (way more than $650, considering you'd need a transmission too).....
installation: like $600+ just in parts. not including the welding...

so now who needs comprehension skills?

Son of a bitch. I caught ur other reply on that ECU thread too. U must be in one hell of a mood tonight. It sounds like he wants a B16/B series auto swap, PERIOD. So why bring up a ZC when he explicitly states B16 auto?

yeah i had a bad night. I got fulltime work and 20 credits this semester so I'm ******* cranky all the time.

THe whole point of my original suggestion

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by drussell4801 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">you want ***** for the crx? you're probably better off with a dual cam zc motor.IT'S CHEAPER!!!</TD></TR></TABLE>

was to help this guy make a better decision. He doesn't want a racecar so he's not doing a manual conversion, so there's really no point going to b series. He's not even keeping the car, he's giving it away, so why put way more money into it than he has to. He can keep the existing automatic transmission AND mounts AND shift linkage AND axles AND wiring harness AND not have to weld, AND have more torque at lower rpm, AND NOT HAVE MUCH LESS PERFORMANCE oVERALL!!! But he didn't really listen to what I said, he just insulted me like an *** hole. I don't really see how my comments were out of place. maybe a bit too crude, but not uncalled for. I was honestly trying to be helpful and this ***** just acted rude.

but the reality is no one wants to hear me blow off steam, so i apologize for flaming up the thread.

My question is why spend a grand or 2 swapping a car that you're going to let your sister drive. Leave it ******' stock and give her the keys. WTF is she going to do with a B16 anyway if it's not going to be run hard? The only thing it's going to do is kill her at the pump lol premium.

ive seen a b20 ls/vtec with an ls tranny in honda-tuning i believe along time ago. Some shop did a custom install in a 92-95 civic. Maybe you could email honda-tuning for the guys name to talk to him.
