Default Help....New to the Honda game

I just picked up a 89 CRX HF for like 50 bucks...I'm real new to all this and was wondering what the cheapest but best swap would be.....My goals are to grab 13's in the 1/4 and it will be driven daily...Thanks, Dustin

hey man, you'll be glad that you got a CRX. here is the different options that you have on engines for your HF:

have fun with your car. and also, remember that before you ask a question, try to use the search function that is located on the top right. if you search "archived" information, you will find even more information as it will include a few years worth of posts.

good luck

nice find on that rex. 50 bucks for a car in any shape is a deal. got pics?? now before anyone jumps on you..if you have any question..any at all. search. 99% of the time..its been spoken about before. and if not then you've got quite a problem on your hands. if you search you'll find the answers you want sooooo much quicker instead of waiting for responses from people. the question you asked is covered nearly everyday so there will be no shortage in answers. goodluck with your quest for 13's

si gauge cluster? if yes then hotdamn that really is a deal. i've seen those go for 20-60 dollars themselves. yeah the hf's kinda blow. whats your budget? if you dont have one, set yourself a budget, quick. and then like everyone here says. add 4 to 500 dollars for stuff that'll go wrong "because they always do"

With a car that light, this goal is actually quite realistic. In fact, it would be downright easy with a B18C swap.

Think it would be possible with the D15B?...someone around here is sellin one for fairly cheap......I also have a direst port nitrous kit from NX that I will most likely be throwing on whatever motor ends up in there...

get a b16a1 and throw it in there. You can do some bolt ons and get mid 14's if not a little better without the nitrous.

put the nitrous and you're in the 13's no problem.

your other option is a dual cam zc, for decent torque. But I wouldn't really want to throw any NOS on that one. zc in your hf is good for low 15's(possibly a little better)
