Over tighten'd Valves??
I'm an EG guy but I have a DOHC ZC in my car...so I'll ask here..
Last night we did a valve adjustment on my motor.....following these steps....
Specs....we did .13 on intake and .15 on exhuast...tiiitest for a lil more lift.....

well once #1 was at TDC and we used the .13 feeler on the intake side....it wouldn't fit....tooo tiite...well we loosen'd it up and got it to spec.....
this was same with every valve on the intake and exhuast side....
Any idea why they were over titten'd.....any draw backs to that......
I'm kinda freak'd.....first time crackin the valve cover open other than to paint it...hahaha

What most people do is set the
clearance to the middle of the recommend specifications..
That way you are not too loose,not too tight..Right in Zee middle..
The exhaust is always set a little looser
because it has to handle heat and heat causes expansion
which reduces clearance..
The reason the clearance is too tight..
Either someone set it that way..
Or valve and/or valve seat
has worn and the clearance has been reduced.

i doubt you did the same thing, but one time i did my valve lash after being awake for too long, and insted of using mm. i went by thousandths of an inch on the feeler guages, or vice versa, i cant really remember.
but all i can say, is that when i started that sucker up, it was loud as hell. I was wondering why every lash setting was so far out of spec too, I "owned" myself
