Default Car only moves when REVed up to 2500?!?!?!?

i was hoping someone can help....
my friend has a low comp gsr (9:1) motor with no turbo yet. It over heats but works normally at advancing timing...WE DONT KNOW WH Y. that is why we dont have the turbo on......Adv distr. lets the car run at normal heating temp.

but after awhile (cummuter car, no down time), bout 3 months, his car wont start from a stand still until he revs it pass 2500. Anyreason why it would do this? He doesnt want to drive it like that but doesnt know how to fix it...thanks

IT WAS THE MAP SENOR!!!! bad map didnt give the car a good air/fuel ratio so it just bogged when we gave it gas until it was at high enough RPM...which gave more air for a better ratio, my friend says this happen a lot with fords and so he unplugged the map and it ran better, For some reason there was no CEL..

since we switch the map...it runs prefect now...
