white smoke comming out of valve cover

after driving 4 awhile i opened the oil cap and white smoke started to come out.. what are the causes of this?? i heard it could be piston rings anyone else have any ideas? thanks

its not overheating or anything.. it just smoke comming out of the valve cover. i just changed the head gasket too... damn i hope its nothing serious
WELL this is how you really tell what it is, turn the car and and let it warm up. Then check the breather or oil cap for smoke and at the same time lift up the oil dip stick and see if theres any smoke comming off of there, and if theres smoke you fried your rings and that could or should i say will cause blow by.

A leakdown test will also tell you where it's coming from.

you need to remember that all hondas create blow-by, hence the purpose of a pcv valve. depending on how much blow-by it actually is and how your car is running, it could just be normal.
do a compression test or a leakdown test...that should tell you.
