im purchasing a crx it has a swap done but stock he said it has an s1 trans but i dont knwo .. is that the lsd transmission ... someone gime a quick answer also how can i tell just by loooking at the car and trans if its lsd let me know guys i ned your help

 

LSD transmissions have a bigass "LSD" stamped in the front, near the transmission label.

 

if theres no lsd stamped on the tranny casing, pull an axle out and look to see if you see a bar going across, bar means no lsd, if you dont see anythign, just the axle on the other side then it does have one, so nothing is lsd

 

I doubt that if he's purchasing this car, the guy is gonna let him take an axle out to check if it has LSD.

Anyways, I've heard that if you jack the front of the car up and put it in gear, turning one wheel with your hand should make the other wheel spin the same direction if it has LSD. If it doesnt have LSD, it will spin the opposite way of the wheel you're turning.

both of that will work

 

is that for sure when you spin the wheel, the other wil go the opposite way? cuz i have a one way lsd, and it spins in opposite directions. so i dunno if your talking about a 2 way lsd, or 1.5, but i know def...1 way lsd spins opp. but lock at the same time when your turning fast.

 

Haha, my little brother was reading this post and said why not just burn out in this guys car. If he really wants to let it go he just might. Not the brightest bulb in the house but he tries. Worth a post - Darrell

 

its not lsd, i have that trans in my rex, its yhe cable trans out of the 91-93 del sol si, it came on the b16 but it works well in crxs cuase its cable and so is the stock trans

 

jack it up both wheels should spin on stock oem lsd trannys right?

they have S1 trans w/ lsd and S1 trans w/o, it depends on if the person that bought it new paid the extra cash
