I'm about to change the fuel filter in the engine compartment. I've searched and don't seemed to find a thread that addresses to this particular question that I have.

The reason I'm asking is because the flare wrenches I saw in Kragen are sold individually, I can't afford a complete set.

Helms says that I need a 12mm for the banjo bolt. Does it means that I need a 12mm flare end wrench? Or do I use that wrench on some other bolt while removing the fuel filter?

Just wanna make sure I have the right tool before I begin. Thanks!

Use a normal 12mm rench to check the size of the bolt.

 

the top bolt is 12 mm, and the entire banjo fitting screw is 17mm.

Yea I just did my fuel filter I was having a hell of a time getting that banjo bolt lose. I had to impact it off lol. 250 ft lb ownage. And you just need a 10 or 12 mm wrench(forget the size) and an adjustable wrench to hold the filter while you loosen it.
